The Russia-Ukraine crisis has affected countless individuals and families in the affected areas. Thousands have been injured, many innocents have died, and millions displaced. An estimated 1.7 million refugees, mainly women and children or elderly people have fled Ukraine.
Humanity First has launched a humanitarian relief campaign to support victims of this crisis. Humanity First sent the first responder team to the Polish-Ukrainian border in late February, and since then they have been assisting Ukrainian refugees.
Humanity First is actively providing medical relief to arriving refugees. Due to the lengthy process of reaching the border and long queues of people waiting to be processed in the winter conditions, most patients have been presenting with a combination of fatigue, headache, sore throat and fever, and daily patient numbers have varied from 25 to 200.
HF is also providing food assistance, warm soup, and other hot drinks.
HF is collaborating with UN agencies on the ground to provide assistance where it is most needed.
We appeal to our donors and supporters to donate at humanityfirst.ca to support the relief work of Humanity First.
